Melanie Beath to Become SOY’s 4th Executive Director
We would like to announce that Melanie Beath has been selected by our board to be our next executive director taking the reigns from Bernie Van Roekel who is retiring on September 30th. Melanie is currently the executive director of Heart of Iowa Big Brothers/Big Sisters in Marshalltown, IA, a position she has held since 2006. Prior to holding this role, she was the executive director of the Iowa Mentoring Partnership. She also has experience in the field of counseling, primarily working with troubled adolescents, young adults, small groups and families.
Melanie has a BA degree in Psychology from Central College and a master of arts in Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy from United States International University. She is also a licensed minster in the Assemblies of God church. Her first official day in her new role will be September 15.
