imageIn January of 2003 Mary Tomlinson joined the SOY team as a volunteer coordinator/mentor match specialist at Polk County Youth Services.  Since that time, Mary has been the “face of SOY” to the multitude of volunteers, visitors, mentors and mentees with whom she has interacted. Her compassion for underprivileged youth, passion for SOY’s mission, and dedication to making a difference will be missed by everyone.

Mary has announced her plans to retire, effective June 30. Mary has been an ambassador for everything SOY stands for, one of those “once-in-a-lifetime” employees who goes above and beyond the expectations.

It is impossible to measure what Mary has meant to SOY during the last 8 years. We will certainly miss her smiling face. On the other hand, we are excited and happy that Mary will be able to “kick back,” pursue new dreams and enjoy time with her family. Our prayer for you is that you will have a long and happy retirement!

A recognition open-house will be held to honor Mary Tomlinson for her years of dedication to SOY on June 22 from 4:30-7:30 at the enclosed shelter (West Cabin #1) in Union Park, located at East 9th and Thompson. Please join us for some fun and to wish Mary the best!
